2020 Winner - Custom Built Homes $850,000 - $1 Million

Raworth - New Home Project

After winning the National award in 2018 for alterations and additions 450k to 600k we were approached by our client to meet up to discuss their plans and to come and have a look at our award winning home. They fell in love with our style and design from Speers point which won us the job of designing there home from scratch to suit their large family's lifestyle. Working hard with our design team we come up with a custom home that has it all, but was very unique in its own right.

The entire top level was designed to house each family member with their own individual large space that they could escape to on their own. With no separate living space upstairs we were able to design 4 extra large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a powder room with a laundry shoot. each bedroom has its own sitting space or desk space. all boasting large WIR and a huge ensuite off the master bedroom.

Down stairs was all about bringing the family together and enjoying each other company. With a huge Theater room with 4 tv's and a oversized projector screen that comes out of the ceiling, open plan living, dining and kitchen with huge walk in pantry. This space over looks a huge entreating outdoor living space that has everything you want to entertain your guests that over looks a concrete pool and spa. outside the kitchen is another outdoor entreating area with seating and fire pit. down stairs also boasts a large 2 car garage, laundry and home office.

The project was decided to be done as a cost plus agreement with a lot of the design ideas being decided as we went. So it was important that we the builders came up with the right design options for our clients that would suit their home and gave them the look they were after, all while being a functionable and usable home. Things like the fire pit is also the main storm water drain for that side of the house, it looks amazing and works really well and we made a drain a feature of the home. As a builder doing a job like this you need to be creative, have great ideas and be great at thinking on your feet. there are so many features on this home that we would be here for ever trying to list them. we cant wait to show off our talents to the judges when they carry out their inspection.

Warners Bay - New Home Project

With a Minimal Budget available and a list of criteria needing to be meet with this project we were up against it from the start. Due to our clients retiring form their professions and not wanting a large home but still wanting enough room to look after their growing family of grandkids. The home was designed so down stairs would house the 2 owners with everything they need, with upstairs being extra living space and more bedrooms. Saving them from using the stairs every day and resale value if they ever choose to sell. Upstairs has 2 large bedrooms, extra living space, powder room and large bathroom.

Down stairs boasts a large master Bedroom with WIR and ensuite, a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area over looking the alfresco and back yard. the lay out also has a 2 car garage, laundry and powder room. This gives our clients all they need on the bottom level.

coming up with design ideas that didn't break the budget but also put the finishing touches on the home was all part of the fun in designing and building this home. our clients loved our ideas of using a feature timber cladding on the front and back of the house, we kept the timber feature pieces flowing through the home with a timber stiar case and feature screen, also a first ever tried timber moulded handrailing, a feature tv wall in the lounge room that had a recesses tv, sonos system and gas fire place. there are many more exciting features on this beautiful home.

Rowan Parker

It's been a stellar journey for Rowan, who began his apprenticeship with MBA in 2002.

After working as a sub-contractor, he took the plunge and founded Coastline Builders & Designers in 2013, specialising in extensions, renovations and custom homes.

"My brother and dad are nationally recognised pool builders and now with this success at the MBAs it seems the whole Coastline empire is flying."

2019 Winner - Apprentice of the Year

Denny Cox

Denny Cox is the ultimate apprentice. He has done charity work and given selflessly back to the community.

He is hard working, respectful, grateful, determined, willing with an attitude well above his years.

"Denny was heavily involved in our National Award-Winning Project last year where he solved some big issues on the job site with other trades."

For a young man to be in the trade for just 4 years and display what he has learnt to date is already a massive achievement. Denny’s work ethic, dedication and passion for this industry and our company is outstanding and deserves to be recognized nationally!

We are so proud to have been part of Denny’s journey/development and look forward to many more years to come whilst watching him mentor our next master builder apprentice.

National Alteration, Additions Award 400k - $650k

Coastline Builders and Designers took out the Newcastle Region & National title for the Alterations, Additions, Renovations and Restorations over $500,000 Award in 2018 for the benchmark project that literally transformed the dated home in Speers Point into a slick and stylish contemporary home.

For most Australians, your home will be the biggest asset you’ll own over your lifetime. This makes choosing a new home – or renovating your existing home – a serious financial decision. You may watch all the renovation shows and can tell Scandinavian style from industrial chic, but making smart choices that ensure your biggest asset delivers long-term value can be daunting.

After our first meeting with Adam & Naomi, we knew this project was going to be a fun one. We wanted to come up with a design that was going to suite their growing family’s lifestyle but also making the family home a useable and functional space all while coming in on time and on budget. The images speak for themselves and we managed to tick all those boxes and so many more once the project was completed.

Leaving all the bedrooms in place down stairs and the front door where it is we cut into the living room to give them a nice big 3 car garage. Re leveling the existing frames up to build the garage frames to the same height gave us the new area to go up. It’s been a dream of Adam & Naomi’s to extend up ever since they purchased the property over 10 years ago.

This home now takes advantage of some of the most amazing views of lake Macquarie. The top veranda makes for the best sunsets you will ever see every afternoon while the back entertaining area meets all the standards when they decide to stay home and entertain.

We came up with many WOW factors on this project that were added in during the course of the project to overcome certain obstacles and that’s what makes it so unique and stylish. It was an absolute please to transform this house into an amazing Award winning home which show off our teams incredible skills and quality workmanship.
